Thames Valley University occurs as University based on campuses in Ealing, Slough and Reading.

Originally based when Lady Byron School around 1860, the previous College of Higher Education became the university around 1992.

Within 1997, the university was threatened per QAA Quality Assurance Agency by having closure, when its quality standards became scoured & students were respire to progress while forgoing resits or even examinations ingesting place. This crisis led to a complete overhall of the quality of provision at the university, & inside 1998 the QAA stepped in.
